Episode 10: Spilling the tea on beauty

Love a good beauty tip? This video is for you.

Every woman has her beauty and self-care secrets. In this video, I share some of mine!

My first stop on this rainy self-care vlog is the Province Apothecary for some facial acupuncture. Facial acupuncture can seem like a crazy beauty treatment, but it really is more of a nap with health benefits. A trained professional, such as a naturopath, helps your body balance and circulate for optimal health by placing tiny needles at key points on your body. This ultimately results in a calmer, rejuvenated appearance as more blood flows back to your face and prevents things like wrinkles, acne or signs of aging. Afterwards, you feel so calm too.

It’s basically all natural botox! Not bad, right?

This all-natural beauty product shop stopped being a physical place during the pandemic, but you can still find all their products on their website. If you’d like to book a facial acupuncture appointment with Dr. Irons, she can now be found at Ellis Park Medical. I highly recommend paying her a visit, she’s really great.

After my appointment and a quick stop at Full of Beans café, a nice chill coffee shop in the area, I went over to another beauty secret in Toronto: LAC + Beauty. This place is really a hidden gem.

For anyone who has never tried brow threading, it is a middle-eastern beauty secret for getting your brows to look clean and well-shaped with minimum maintenance. The brows are plucked via a string that pulls all the hairs out, resulting in a longer-lasting brow shaping than other methods. Although it can be a bit painful, it shouldn’t be too painful if you’re going to a great brow expert.

I want you all to know where to find the best of the best. I can always count on LAC + Beauty to make my eyebrows look their absolute finest. Estelle and the whole team at LAC + Beauty were trained by Kelly Baker Brows, who is the brow artist to the stars in Los Angeles. Your eyebrows will thank you!

After cleaning up my brows and rejuvenating my self with acupuncture, I feel like a whole new person! Not a bad way to spend a Saturday! Would you try acupuncture or threading?

I’d love to know! Let me know in the video comments and be sure to subscribe to the channel and my newsletter below so you never miss a video!
